In molti stati ormai la privacy non ha più peso se confrontata con altre necessità.
Non passa giorno in cui non ci siano notizie di conversazione intercettate, trascrizioni su giornali, controlli e quant'altro.
Sembra che più la tecnologia si diffonde, più vada a ledere la privacy.

Non tutte le tecnologie però nascono per controllare, intercettare e monitorare... controcorrente infatti troviamo un'azienda nata con la collaborazione di colosso svedese (labs2.com) con il partito dei pirati svedese.
La forza di relakks riesede proprio nella nazione che ospita i servizi: la Svezia, uno dei pochi stati dove le comunicazioni personali e la privacy mantengono ancora un valore ben superiore a qualsiasi altra cosa/interesse/lobby.

This perpetual game of cat and mouse pits the deep pockets of the media industry against the ingenuity and massive numbers of the filesharing community. Relakks, a commercial darknet service developed by the Swedish Pirate Party is the latest manifestation of this digital arms race.

Relakks, which is described as "Swedish style" broadband, provides a high-speed virtual private network through which users can anonymously connect to the Internet. Users are given substitute IP addresses that enable them to surf the web and use bandwidth intensive network applications through a connection protected by 128-bit encryption that theoretically deflects ISP snooping. Located in Sweden and built entirely without American software "for security reasons," the Relakks service emphasizes legal protection as well as technological protection. Sweden's Electronic Communications Act of 2003 stipulates that telecommunications service providers are only required to turn over records to the Swedish government in circumstances where evidence demonstrates beyond doubt that a suspect has perpetrated a crime for which a minimum jail sentence of two years is applicable. Relakks is not legally required to turn over records to any other government or organization.
